HOW TO APPLY
We understand that deciding where to continue your education is a major decision that will have a life-changing effect on both you and your family. The Office of Admissions at Cristo Rey New York High School is here to assist you in that decision by providing tours, scheduling school visits, and being a resource to answer your questions as you navigate this process.

STEP 1: ARE YOU ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
You must be 14 years old by September 12th, 2025.
Cristo Rey New York High School exclusively serves students who desire a college prep education but cannot otherwise afford to attend a private high school. Demonstrated financial need is a requirement for admission and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis through the financial aid process. View detailed information on our Financial Fact Sheet.
You must have at least average grades and attendance and be willing to work hard to meet high academic expectations and the work obligations of the school.
You must possess the maturity and work ethic necessary to be successful working with adults in an office environment. All students must be authorized to work in the United States by the first day of the work-study program.

STEP 2:
Before you start the online application, you will need to gather all documents that are listed on the Document Checklist.

7th Grade Final Report Card

7th Grade Attendance Record

Most recent standardized test scores

School Report/Transcript Request Form (Submit to current school)

Two (2) Teacher Evaluation Forms - Math & English (Submit to current school)

One (1) School Administrator Character Form (Principal, Assistant Principal, Guidance Counselor, Dean of Students) (Submit to current school)

A copy of 2023 tax return (Form 1040)

Most recent W-2s for all jobs held by contributing adults in the household

Proof of other forms of income including (if applicable): Supplementary Security Income (SSI), SNAP, TANF, unemployment, child support or alimony, worker's compensation, other government assistance, etc.

STEP 4:
SUBMIT RECOMMENDATIONS
You must send the Confidential School Report/Transcript Request and the Confidential Teacher Evaluation forms to their current school using the online admissions portal. Please check with your current school to confirm who should receive each form.
Note: If your current school prefers to complete the PDF version of the school forms instead of completing the forms online, please download the school forms. Then provide the school with the forms to complete and return the forms to CRHS when complete.
STEP 5:
Complete the FACTS application to determine financial aid.
For admission to grade 9 for the 2025-2026 school year, your family’s annual household income generally may not exceed the amount shown below in the first column for your household size. Depending on circumstances, a limited number of students whose income exceeds the amount shown in the second column may also be admitted. Learn more about financial eligibility here.
STEP 6:
Once all required application information and documentation have been submitted, the Admissions team will schedule an interview.
INTERVIEW STRUCTURE
The interview process takes 60 minutes. There are 3 sections. Each section lasts roughly 10 minutes. Please keep in mind that the section order will be different for each student.
